Train Sim World 2020 - LIRR Budd M3 - Train 1910 to Belmont Park
Today we will be returning to the Long Island Railroad for another driver in the Budd M3. I'm slowly getting the hang of driving this unit. On this run we will be using an 8-car set of M3 stock; that's four married pairs. The lead unit is made up of cars 9823 and 9842.
Our run starts in the disturbingly-empty West Side Yard, and we have to set-up the train before proceeding into Penn station. The timetable was very relaxed, and I had enough time in the platform to walk to the other end of the train and switch on the tail lights.
After departing Penn Station at 11:01, we head into the East River Tunnels and out to Belmont Park. On the way we will stop at Woodside and Jamiaca. Since the previous M3 recording, I figured out how to sort out the door glitch with the train.
Belmont Park is the terminus of a short spur line from Queens Village. It's a seasonal-use station that serves the Belmont Park racetrack, a horse racing track that has been in operation since 1905.
