There is a ridiculous amount of benefit to training on a Hill. for one it can allow you to practice something that is too difficult for you to do on the flat ground.

Yet it can actually make things more difficult than flat ground.

it all depends on if you are going to crawl up Hill to make things easier on the upper part of the Hill and harder for things on the lower part of the Hill.

If training different types of movements such as parkour, acrobatics, dance, or just fitness then get ahold of me. I work with a levels and will help you start your journey.

today I wanted to take some time to
show you the benefits of training
movement on a hill, this also applies for a
staircase as well but Hills and staircases
have slight differences so we're at a
hill today.

the first benefit I want to talk
about is that Hills are great for either
making an exercise harder or making an
exercise more difficult
now that might be very self-explanatory
you're thinking "yeah I run up a hill
it's harder than if I run down a hill,"
but they have kind of slightly different
effects on your body. If you are
going up a hill everything that is on
the downside of the Hill, the down
the slope area is going to be working
harder, if I decide I want to crawl
up a hill it's going to be harder
on my legs and it's going to be on my
arms. why? because my legs are on the
lower part of the Hill if I crawl down
the hill it's going to be harder on my
arms than it is going to be on my legs
because my arms are on the lower part of
the Hill
I think that Hills are wonderful for
when you're first developing a move such
as a crawl for example
because you to do the skills somewhat
better than if you're on flat ground
because on flat grown there's no context
or no need for you to do a skill
in any other way than the easiest way
possible but because the hill makes
things more difficult you are then
forced to do it in a more efficient
manner
so for example if I put somebody on a
flat ground I tell them to do a bear
crawl sometimes they might do this weird
pattern where they move half their body
and then half their body instead they should be getting a cross
lateral pattern very similar
to walking, but for some reason on flat
ground develop with this half
body half body pattern and that doesn't
seem to appear when you put somebody on
a hill or on a staircase because of the
way the body has to balance itself out
when opposing gravity and opposing a
force that makes you have to move more
efficiently to do the skill correctly
I just want to crawl up
and down this hill a few times show you
what I mean by that
and let you practice the rest okay so
forward crawl up a hill
reverse walk up a hill
reverse crab down a hill
every single one of these is going to be
challenged differently
then if you were to do it on flat ground
and that's the beauty of training on a
hill. Every single crawl that you
could possibly do on flat ground you
should also practice it on a hill it
will make you stronger
it will make you arrive in a different
way of pushing than maybe you thought
before
it might make the skill easier for you
if you've been having a hard time on
flat ground
and maybe for example you don't have the
flexibility to do it on flat ground yet
but you have the arms at a higher
position than your legs on a hill so it
makes things easier for you
therefore you can practice the pattern
and not have to worry about the mobility
just yet and I think that over time if
you're doing that your body will start
to open up and allow you to access
those new ranges
