In order to make hand balance easier you want to have a strong neural drive to the shoulders in a pushing position.
With the exercise band I can create a lot of feedback for stability in shoulder at its end range.
I find that supplementing actual handstand and hand balance work with exercise band work will double your efforts and it also helps for recovery days or days you can't get on your hands due to time constraints.
Hand balancing is a great cross training for dancers, yogis, tumblers and over head lifters.
