Trains At Barnetby 08/07/2008 Part 1
Here is Part 1 of the 3-part video where the MirleesMediaGroup went to Barnetby film various trains and workings in that area. Firstly we start off with 60025 heading towards Immingham direction light engine after receiving attention from a mechanic as the locomotive had trouble releasing the brakes on the train although the locomotive brakes worked fine. The tanker that was supposed to been worked by 60025 was some 3 hours late after 60014 "Alexander Fleming" (not shown in the video) was sent in to recover the train. Also in this part, there is a tamping unit and other freight worked by 66's as well as the usual passenger services worked by class 153's on the Newark Northgate - Grimsby service operated by East Midlands Trains and the class 185 "Desiro" units on the Manchester Airport - Cleethorpes service operated by First Trans Pennine Express (FTPE). I personally like the class 185's better than the 170 Turbostars as they have a nice roar when they power up and feature the Cummins QSK19 Turbocharged Engine and 750hp. There is also a cracking two-tone horn courtesy of the kind driver of the 153 returning to Newark Northgate from Grimsby which was the same train we came to Barnetby on ;). Right, enough of my waffle and enjoy the video. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to post on the forum below!
