Transformers vs GI Joe- like playing when you were a kid, except crazier!
I love this book. Every page oozes fun. Tom Scioli never fails to disappoint me.
Book is just nuts in all the right ways. It's obvious Tom and whoever was helping edit or supervise this series were quite steeped in GI Joe figures and lore. Transformers as well, but Joes were my jam, big time. We used to be able to recite large portions of the movie's script for years. Still probably can. We used to have a photographic catalog of all the Joes made in the original run and could recite verbatim what they came with (and oftentimes which page they were on, who they were next to... yeah.)
So this book reads like one big giant love letter to both franchises. It very much reads like Tom reconnecting with his childhood imagination, and letting the story grow from there organically. It's out there. I don't even want to spoil a bit of it.
Just find it and enjoy it. Naturally, it seems to be overpriced and out of print in hardcover, but there are softcover collections available as well.
