Trials Evolution Tutorial Demonstration "How to Make Water Rise"
Key:
OIDS= Object Info Data Source
OPE= Object Position Event
Make Water Rise
Step 1: Make a whole under the surface you wish to place the water. This is so you can place the dummy objects below the ground level. (There may be another way but this worked for me)
Step 2: You need 1 interval trigger, 1 object position event, 6 object info data source, 2 dummy objects, 1 water effect, 3 curved data sources.
Step 3: Set 2 OIDS on Z and Y axis. connect 1 X,Y,Z OIDS to one dummy object and the other X,Y,Z OIDS to the other dummy object.
Step 4: Take 1 curved data source and connect the START to Z axis OIDS (connected to the lower dummy object) and connect the END to the other Z axis OIDS (connected to the upper dummy object).Now do this for the other 2 curved data sources.
Step 5: Select the interval trigger, change interval to 1, select event/filter and select Object position event.
Step 6: Select the OPE and highlight over Position X (press Y) and select the Curved data source connected the the X OIDS. Now do this for Position Y and Z.
Step 7: Select the OPE and select Event Targets, select the water.
Step 8: Select The OPE and uncheck Local.
To Control The Water
1. Use the Dummy objects to control the height in which the water rises. If you want the water to start lower move the bottom dummy. If you want the water to rise higher move the upper dummy.
2. Make sure your dummy objects are on top of each other or the water will move on X
and Z axis.
3. Make sure you build the water animation with the correct water from the start or you water effect will not work right. Each type of water effect have different properties and when you change the variation of the water after the animation is built the water will not act the way you want it to.
To Activate With Trigger
1. Get hit trigger and On state event.
2. Select hit trigger, select on Hit, select state event.
3.Select state event, select type on, Select Event Targets (Interval trigger,OPE,3 curved data sources)
4. Disable the interval trigger, the OPE, and the 3 curved data sources.
