Tribulation, First Look at an Indie Game Demo!
Arbiters bring justice and balance to the world, protecting the innocent and keeping the peace in a world filled with war, criminals, and even monsters. And as evil rises in the world, so, too, will new heroes, as a fresh-faced bunch form a new Arbiter Squad in Santabell City. Sharla, Indira, Kyra, and Liria have their work cut out for them, keeping the citizens safe and the city functioning, not to mention dealing with a tear in the fabric of reality...
Tribulation is an upcoming turn-based JRPG by Desdemona Games, inspired by classics of the genre, as well as the original Ghostbusters. It stars a distinct cast of characters, each with their own personality and backstory, and features solid gameplay as well. The music choices are good, the artwork is enjoyable (although the character sprites are a bit small), and the story has a very solid grounding even if I would change the ordering of some events. The game has a charm to it that really makes me excited to see how it develops and where the story goes. There's so much good going on here, and I think with some adjustments to developing the interpersonal conflict we see a little more slowly and resolving it after it's had time to build up a bit more than it does now, this is going to be one of the games people will be raving about.
I wasn't able to find social media for Desdemona Games and the Itch page is currently private, but if I find something to link to, I'll certainly do so here!
