Tribute to Doom Eternal
23Greetings Slayers! Back again with another tribute video. This one took longer for various reasons; one of which being I decided to take a different approach than usual. Instead of picking a vocal song and attempting to match the lyrics, I used the music from the game itself. Some elements from past videos exist such as in-game vocals being used, but ultimately I wanted to give full tribute to the game including the music.
For those who are aware, Doom has been part of my life for a long time. I don't always play it and often get side-tracked, but the games are always fun. Starting with Doom through TNT, up to Doom 3, Doom 2016, and now Doom Eternal, ID Software, and Bethesda with the last two releases, really know how to produce quality games in my opinion.
Though the parallels between 2016 and Eternal are obvious, I love the homage to the classic music. I don't recognize all of it, but the intro song to this video always stuck out in my head when playing Doom Plutonia. Mick Gordon did an excellent job blending old with modern. I know there has been a fallout between Gordon and ID, which is unfortunate, but this video is in-part a tribute to the music he composed.
All things considered, Doom Eternal is well worth the money. I hope to see lore expand the in-between time to explain how Slayer got the Fortress of Doom. Personally, I believe the Spider Mastermind was Deag Nilox's guardian considering how Eternal starts and how he served as a priest in Argent D'Nur, the final showdown of 2016.
In any case, on to the video. The music is pieced together rather than one long segment. I certainly put in more effort into this video than most, so hopefully you enjoy!
