TripleHate Reads: The Nightingale (Hans Christian Andersen)
Been a while since I read one of Hans Christian Andersen's stories, and this one is among his classics. Some of the foreign observations are clearly dated (this story is from 1844, to be fair), but nonetheless this honestly beautiful and uplifting little tale not only contains many passages and phrases that remain in popular lingo to this very day, but also many timeless themes of nature vs artifice, loving a shadow over the genuine article, the dangers of sycophancy en masse, and not turning one's gaze away from reality.
This is currently my longest reading on the new audio setup, and I figured it a good test; as my current work schedule does not afford me as much time as before, I had to be somewhat expedient in the editing process, so apologies for anything that managed to slip between my fingers. As usual, any suggestions, advice, constructive criticism, etc. are always appreciated!
