Two days ago I didn't think this was physically possible for me. Now I've done it twice.

For background: On the NTSC releases of this game, this song is said to be literally impossible to FC because of a strum limit that's slightly lower than the rate of the fast strumming here. This is also something that affects Green Grass And High Tides on Rock Band 1 and East Jesus Nowhere in Rock Band 2/Green Day Rock Band. Don't know why Harmonix thought this was acceptable, but it is what it is. On PAL, the strum limit is higher due to being tied to the 50 Hz output of PAL systems and TVs. Though that's not how I played. I played on the mod Guitar Hero 2 Deluxe, which among other things, removes the strum limit entirely. So that fast strumming in the solo is possible in this mod.

I had long considered this out of my league, since the solo is pretty hard even without a strum limit. But over time, I felt myself getting better at the zig zags, and even getting close to nailing the fast strumming. And so last night, I made it happen. I don't think I can submit this to ScoreHero due to it being in Deluxe. But I'm really proud nonetheless. This run is actually a Re-FC, because after doing it the first time, I wanted to do it on camera and with a better score. This is the result of nearly half an hour more of grinding. Again, happy to have this under my belt and properly documented.

I'm sorry about the quality of the video. I prefer playing this game on my CRT since then I don't need to calibrate, so I couldn't turn on progressive scan or widescreen. Also, the frame rate does have some slight chug, because of the toll Elgato Game Capture can take on my Mac's CPU. If there was an alternative that was more consistent on Mac, I'd use it in a heartbeat. But, it is what it is. I'm just happy to have an FC run recorded.
