Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre were among the speakers at an event to mark one year since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in Israel, and to honour the victims, survivors and hostages still remaining in the area. Trudeau spoke of the pain the Jewish community continues to suffer through, but also the hope he sees in the community as they rebuild, while Poilievre blasted the government's policies and handling of subsequent protests and attacks on Jewish institutions.
