I got to run in the first True to the Brew Trail Run/Hike, put together by the Palmetto Conversation Foundation. This roughly 6.5 mile trail covers a very flat course with 14 bridges or trestles to include a few that were once used by railroad.

The last bridge before the finish line in particular was spectacular to run across because under its 1100 foot span was the Broad River and the old metal frame of the railroad bridge supported the newer trail path.

After the race, we enjoyed a small after-party in which we had plenty of water, bananas, chicken bog (a favorite Carolina dish), and racers got to partake in a free beer.
