After we had an electrical storm a while back, a bunch of our stuff was damaged.
Ethernet switch in the livingroom was dead.
My main amp was damaged so it had to be sent back to the factory.
My computer's power supply was toast, so I had to replace that.
Even our doorbell got roasted (still can't find the transformer for it so I can't fix it :\).
Aaaand my old Radio Shack "soldering station" stopped working :\
It's not one of the cool soldering stations where you can turn dials and stuff ;P
It's just basically a stand with a holder for the iron, and a switch to change wattage from 20 to 40.
But, it's what I've been using for a very long time, and I don't have anything to replace it, except some el-cheapo soldering irons.
Of course, if anybody wants to donate a real soldering station, new or used, or donate the cash for it, I wouldn't turn it down ;P
