Okay, so the button combinations they are referring to are in fact what system you're trying to use the controller ON, not the controller you're trying to use on whatever. In the XBox's case, it was Start + Right to get it to sync. However, with the 8Bitdo, you also want to hold the 'back' button (on XBox One controller) or "share" button (on PS4) and hold 'up' for about four seconds to enable XInput mode. It's a bit confusing at first, but it will make the analog sticks function as intended.

I still hate 8Bitdo adapters. Also, it resets that second button combo every time you power off and power back on. Because it's 8Bitdo and it sucks.

Overall, awesome project that will save people money. I tried it briefly on XBox 360 but apparently it doesn't work (project page also states this). What I do want to try is using the chatpad on regular XBox. (Update: Chatpad is a nope.)The project is still early, so I don't really expect it to work but hey, this is freakin' awesome!

I also switched my female USB port out. It was definitely the cause of my problems throughout most of this stream. The PS2 connector still doesn't work. That could be due to the contacts being dirty. That analog light does come on now so that's a start.
