TS2020 Train Simulator Aerotrain to Philadelphia Part 1
No Music.. No Talking... Just an Aerotrain to Philadelphia Part 1 Scenario.. I really like the looks of this 50's Loco.. although I think they could have used a better route to show it off.. I guess that's what Quick Drive is for.. Train Simulator needs a 50's-60's Chicago to South Bend.. South Bend to Toledo and Toledo to Detroit to cover the Midwest top two hotspots back then.. USA all the way.. I still enjoyed the scenario..
The Route Sales Pitch:
Drive along this famous railroad under the shadow of the Allegheny Mountains and try your driving skills on the tight turns and steep gradients of the famous Pennsylvanian Horseshoe Curve! The Horseshoe Curve Expansion Pack has been designed to maximize the graphical and operational advances which have been made in Train Simulator, and includes new EMD GP7 and F7 locomotives plus unlock-able scenarios which allow you to work your way up as an engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad.
The Horseshoe Curve is situated near the town of Altoona in Pennsylvania and has echoed to the thunder of heavy freight trains ever since its completion in 1854. It offers the spectacle for railroad engineers – and lucky passengers – of being able to watch the rear of their train making its way along one side of the curve as the locomotives lead the train up the other side, the middle of the train running around the tight 637-foot radius curve at the top of the lake.
The Horseshoe Curve for Train Simulator recreates not only the famous curve, but also the 45-mile stretch from Altoona to Johnstown as it appeared in the mid-1950s. Complete with appropriate PRR locomotives and rolling stock, the Horseshoe Curve also includes scenarios in which unexpected events unfold and allow the player to unlock more missions and rise through the ranks of their fellow engineers. Start off switching in Altoona Yard and progress to driving passenger trains on the main line, and if you do well enough you will be asked to drive the Centenary train!
Includes:
45-mile line from Altoona to Johnstown via the Horseshoe Curve and Gallitzin Tunnels
Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) EMD F7 locomotive 'A' and 'B' units
Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) EMD GP7 locomotive
Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) freight cars and passenger cars
5 free roam scenarios and 6 unlock-able career scenarios - complete one scenario to unlock the next and handle increasingly important tasks, finishing with a special 100th anniversary trip to coincide with a light show over the Horseshoe Curve.
The Aerotrain Streamlined loco Sales Pitch:
The Aerotrain, a futuristic and utterly unique lightweight diesel streamliner that became one of the most iconic American passenger trains of the 1950s, is now available for Train Simulator!
The Aerotrain was created by General Motors as a lightweight, low-cost alternative to traditional passenger equipment, and the diminutive streamliner was at once futuristic in its bold styling and design-based upon standard industrial components. Motive power for the Aerotrain came in the form of a sleek Electro-Motive locomotive designated the LWT12, which was equipped with a standard EMD 567-series 1,200-horsepower diesel power plant. The Aerotrain’s low-slung passenger coaches were based upon GM’s standard 40-passenger intercity bus carbody, which for rail service was widened by 18 inches and mounted on a pair of axles per coach.
General Motors assembled a pair of 10-car Aerotrain demonstrators in 1955. The distinctive streamliner made its debut in January 1956 when one of the demonstrators ran from Washington, D.C., to Newark, New Jersey on the Pennsylvania Railroad while the second dashed from Chicago to Detroit on the New York Central. The Pennsylvania Railroad then leased one Aerotrain and utilized it as a nine-car train in New York-Philadelphia-Pittsburgh service, while the second Aerotrain undertook a barnstorming tour that included working on U.S. railroads such as the Santa Fe and Union Pacific. A third Aerotrain locomotive was constructed for the Rock Island and the RI eventually purchased the two demonstrators as well.
