1Some ways of dealing with the boss in stage 1.
First is a 2 Star strat. First, break the shield. Then do damage and knock them down. Then when you break the shield again do damage and when you cancel into star make sure they are high enough in the air so you can jab afterwards. Also, seems that you don't want to jab when they are too high because then the uppercut can wiff.
Second is with 3 stars. 3 Stars, but you don't have to knock them down and wait for them to get back up. Break shield, grab pummel loop, neutral throw cancel on the first hit, etc.
Either way, I don't think you need the fire sword here. You can use it against the dudes before the subway train.
