Turok 2, one of the most original blood-thirsty shoot 'em-ups ever released on any platform! Played on an original N64 (PAL) cartridge this Level 2 The River of Souls Part 1/4 of a campaign on the hardest difficulty setting with no auto-aim used plus with the Expansion Pak used for better graphics and tougher enemy A.I as you'll see! There's heavy bloodshed in every segment!

These uploads aren't designed to show any speed or prowess for the game, but for enjoyment, nostalgia, to show that the N64 was/is still awesome even 16 years after this game's release plus to show the game is completable even on the hardest setting, and help out any other Turok'ing fans out there who may be stuck somewhere. This game had me fully puzzled until 2012, well I could get to level 5 but never finish it... ;)

This will prove an invaluable guide to anyone (first-time novices or semi-experienced players) stuck on ANY part of the game as 100% gets completed using various tactics such as sniping, circle-strafing round corners and enemies, and knowing the locations of all the weapons and mission objectives.

Every Sacred Eagle Feather/Talismans and Nuke Pieces from the Flesh Portals are collected too. So the game is 100% completed. On "Hard" with no auto-aim. Which after this level suddenly gets a whole lot harder!

The walkthrough is segmented for a few reasons, and has been done from save-point to save-point basis in every level. For the hardcore/speedrunning players out there the first 2 or 3 levels this may seem pointless but as all retro gamers will know well, N64's can have a tendency to freeze especially when a high data load is being processed with the Expansion Pak. Mine froze too many times (despite the cover being off for more effective cooling) during long recordings so I decided to start over and segment them. They are uncut recordings too and all follow on EXACTLY from the location the previous one ended. Segmenting also makes upload times a lot quicker for me too.

So, for both ease of viewing between each save point and allowing me time to get a drink between the save-points, I hope this will help any players stuck view a specific part.

Covered in Level 2 Part 1 - Riding the Triceratops with infinite ammo blasting my way into the city and to save point no.1 with full ammo and full 200 health ready for the "meat" of the level because this is a LONG level for a novice and even amateur.

Weapons - Talon, Bow, Pistol, Shotgun, Tek Bow, Mag 60, Shredder, Plasma Rifle and Grenade Launcher. Get to use infinite grenades and chain-cannons on the Triceratops whilst aboard him though until the first save point. Note the first 1/4 of the level is probably impossible without boarding the Triceratops.

Objectives completed in this clip - DESTROYING everything in my path and just reaching the first save point in 1 piece! Not a single bit of the map goes unexplored. I must recommend keeping the screen map on at all times especially until the first save point so no essential pickups (a few Full Healths and an Ultra Health) are missed, and every enemy is blown to sheds!

This is one of the longest linear levels, if you know where you;re going it's easy especially with the weapon upgrades we got from level 3 the shredder with scattering (green) shells is invaluable on this level! Even the Mag 60 is very handy at making the Dinosoid Vanguard explode with it's high-velocity kicks of 3 rounds per shot! So be prepared for the "very long and confusing" level 2 to be completed with ease, but not rushed as I'm enjoying my playthrough, and as I also have the Breath of Life Talisman I get to swim in "The River of Souls" and it doesn't take my soul! :)

I complete the rest of the game in this order - Level 2 and Primagen Key, Level 5, Level 4 and Primagen Key then Level 6 with the Primagen Key, then I go and collect the Level 5, Level 3 and re-visit Level 1 and get that Primagen key and HOPEFULLY have 9 lives and 200 health at the end of it when I face-off against the Primagen himself!

So, this level is longer and more confusing than level 3 and doesn't have more than 1 new weapon upgrade but there's so many enemies to kill of all different varieties that I actually like this level now, I hope everyone is enjoying the walkthrough as much as I am making the guide!

All the level 3 weapons I collected especially the Shredder make my trek deeper into level 2 very easy - then it's onto the "big boys'" levels! (5, 4 + 6) ! I may do a speedrun of this game once this walkthrough is completed... N64 games rule!! :)
