I was just a kid when Turok came out in 1997. I used to mess around and explore alot of the lands, which at the time were pretty astounding to me. One day I come across a level 4 portal room, and jump on the first pillar, all the sudden the ambience and sounds were, weird. In this video I compare the remaster for Steam and the N64 version. I haven't heard much talk about this weird ambience except from a now defunct forum post from 2002. The user in there discovered it much like I did except he became obsessed with it. He described setting up a camera to his TV so he could record himself inside this certain area of the game. He would leave the camera and game on for days at a time. I saw one video where the weird sounds were playing at a faster rate than usual. Then one day he posted a picture of the screen with no description. It was a mummified ghost monster floating in front of Turok, staring at him. The guy never updated the thread again, and soon the thread itself was deleted. I managed to save the picture, but I eventually lost it because I was a kid not knowing how to backup data back then. I'm playing this on an emulator because I do not want to ever go into this level on an actual N64 console again.
