This is unseen videogame footage of an early build of Twisted Metal 4 for the PlayStation. Can you spot all the differences compared to the retail version?

According to the developer, the in-car view was helpful for debugging reasons. When the camera is outside of the car, it's easier to have algorithms for controlling its placement so that they could (hopefully) never let the player see behind world polygons into empty space. With in-car, there are not many options one can use for preventing this, and you can drive right up to polygons. Because the PS1 (and PS2 and PSP, but not PS3) would ignore rendering a polygon if any of the vertices were far enough off the screen, and that would happen very often when driving in in-car camera mode up to a wall, the player could easily see through the world.

Another change which a viewer won't notice is completely different controls from the retail version.
