Twitch BLOWS IT Over In Game Audio Muting, Riot Denies Seraphine Rips Off Ex-Girlfriend of Employee
Twitch BLOWS it when responding to the recent DMCA crisis that has impacted streamers big and small, and a STUPID Twitter response leads to streamers playing their games WITH NO SOUND and miming everything happening in game. Plus, Riot denies allegations that Seraphine is based off of an ex-girlfriend of a Riot employee (dramaaaaaa), and Respawn fixes Apex Legends battle pass and offers a week of double XP to make up for the TERRIBLE launch that angered players.
Twitch Tells Streamers to Mute Games To Avoid DMCA Claims
Twitter is one of those places where companies with bad PR reps go to have even worse takes that get ratioed into the Netherrealm, and Twitter has been on a ROLL lately with the absolutely horrible takes. But this one hits just a little different, especially after the turmoil that has enveloped streamers both big and small over the past month or so, with DMCA claims rolling in at an absolutely astronomical rate. Earlier this week, Twitch sent out an email addressing the DMCA claims, and it was pretty weak: essentially saying “hey, this used to not be a problem, but we are doing our best, sorry for being no fun.”
Riot Denies Allegations That Seraphine is Based Off an Ex Girlfriend
A woman named Stephanie has alleged that a new League of Legends character with a similar appearance and name, Seraphine, is based on her. At the crux of her allegation is a brief relationship she had with a Riot employee in 2019, an employee who she believes borrowed details from her likeness and life for the fictional KD/A pop star. This woman alleges that everything from the champion’s name, her eye color, hair color, and even HER CAT are all ripped off from her real life. She even says that selfies the League of Legends champion takes are based off of some of her real life selfies on her Instagram.
Riot, for their part, says that this is absolutely false, and has no basis since Seraphine was “not based on any individual.” They said that they take stuff like this seriously, but you have to wonder, would they really be willing to share a piece of the K/DA pie with somebody who they lifted inspiration from?
Apex Legends Battle Pass Fixes And Double XP Week
Respawn has not had a great launch of Season 7 to Apex Legends, even though the game itself is playing better than it ever has. With the inclusion of new legend Horizon, the new map Olympus and the vehicles called Tridents, the game has new playability all over again. But the stink of a stinky battle pass continues to hang over the game, as players have had a real problem with just how junky it started off at. After handling the issues players were having with how slow the battle pass was progressing, they were faced with another wild issue: a glitch that reset players progress towards the next battle pass tier after the latest batch of weekly challenges unlocked early yesterday, all stemming from the update patch pushed through.
