I've heard a lot of people struggling with Commander Gaius, so it's extra-wild to me that I took him down in 3ish tries (I say "ish" cause I saw a BIT of his moveset when my partner was playing through on console with her Sorcerer character). Using the Greatsword of Solitude and Deflecting Hardtear combo absolutely demolished this boss because he would get staggered in only TWO guard counters. Definitely an incredibly strong strategy against this boss, GIVE IT A WHIRL
