Shield damage, draw a 2 handed weapon on tilted shield frame, and release shield before the draw animation is done. You'll be locked in the animation you had. then if you put away the item, link is locked to analog input. you can break out by using items, but a cutscene item turns it into a true softlock where not even pausing works.
