I had to kill some time this morning, and while looking at some other stuff I bumped into Tyrian, one of my all-time favourite games, of which I haven't played in ages.

Since I haven't been able to post anything new recently, 'cause I've been on holidays, I grabbed a copy (Thanks OpenTyrian), and got DOSbox to record it all.

I'm sure I'll cop a whole bunch of flamage from people telling me to play on a harder difficulty, but from Hard onwards every level is dark, and you have to use the lights, which is just a pain in the arse. That said, I may do a segmented Lord of the Game difficulty playthrough at some point.

I'll try to release 1-3 levels of this playthrough a day, depending on length over the next couple of weeks, averaging about a 3-5 minute video each time. By the time that the playthough is all uploaded I should be back home and ready to do some more current-gen stuff.

In this particular segment, not much interesting happens just yet, I often dive into danger to score a couple of extra kills for more money at this early point in the game.

Equipment changes:
Rear Weapon: Changed to Sonic Wave, upgraded to level 2.
Left Sidekick: Plasma Storm.

Plasma storm pretty much pays for itself in this level, as you gain the ability to kill the spikes and barriers at the end, Sonic wave is just a brilliant weapon (Low power usage, decent damage, good spread, etc) when set to front fire, so I stick with it for quite a while, as you'll see.

I messed up my plasma storm usage, so I didn't kill all the barriers just before the last boss.
