As the House Baratheon-Lannister forces in King's Landing prepare the city for King Stannis' upcoming siege (a task which the overconfident King Joffrey believes to have little worth), Varys converses with Lord Tyrion Lannister on how effective Tyrion has been in his role as the Acting Hand of the King.


Joffrey's confidence is not out of place if he was dealing with Stannis' initial force, before gaining Renly's troops, implying that either Joffrey does not understand that Stannis now has a far larger force, or that no one told him.
