The Young Turks' Cenk Uygur purposefully distorts the arguments against debate moderators being fact checkers. He claims that Donald Trump and other conservatives want moderators held to their traditional roles out of fear and thinks people watching at home are too stupid to figure out whether Clinton or Trump are lying during a debate.

For his audience, he might be right. But a moderator is not there to fact check, they are there to ask questions and keep time. Cenk doesn't think moderators fact checking is a big deal because he knows the only one who would be fact checked is Trump, Hillary will be given a pass as she was in last night's debate.
