The success or failure will "always" depends on the CEO's Leadership. Just like a boat, if the captain doesn't know where he/she is going... and or he makes a coordination mistake, it's all on the Captain's Shoulder.
The employee follows orders. Same thing with the army, soldiers follow orders. But the if the Captain, Sergeant, Lieutenant or whoever above makes a bad call, then the entire platoon will be in deep trouble.
If you don't know how to Lead, don't become a Leader. Give that task to someone else who knows how to Lead.
Don't pretend to be a Leader either. Pretending is worst then being bad a Leading since you make everyone believe that you can Lead but you can't. So you're lying to everyone in a way.
I worked for many companies and only was more successful then all other companies I worked for. How? Because our BIG BOSS was the nicest guy I've ever seen in my entire 30 years work life experience.
Our big boss cared about his employees and would alwayes be there to listen to us. That's why the company was more successful then all the other companies I've worked for. We were making millions without even promoting our service. Everyone was happy at work. But that depends on "HOW" the Big Boss Leads the company and care about it's employee as well.
