Yasuke being in Assassin's Creed Shadows was fairly obviously motivated by modern day political beliefs.

However I believe that the executives at Ubisoft greenlit this decision knowing the controversy would get a massive number of eyeballs on the game while distracting paying customers who wouldn't notice all of the scummy monetisation practises.

How the hell is this game getting massive preorder numbers despite their being zero gameplay and multiple entries in a row being lazy, copy and pastes of Origins?
