Installation - Dual booting with Windows 7 and using the automated partitioning.
Look at Pre-Installed Software Canonical have included on the install disk, including LibreOffice 3.3, Firefox 4, Banshee Media Player, Ubuntu One, Software Centre, Puzzle Games, and a 3D shooter.
Fancy Desktop Features - Tutorial on setting up Compiz effects and Coloured Mouse Cursors
Installing Software and suggestions of a Few Applications to try: Chromium, Gimp image editor, Inkscape vector graphic, Openshot, Zaz and Sauerbraten.
Conclusion 85% - A nice modern desktop environment, very easy to use, but not necessarily for everyones taste. Next version of Ubuntu (11.10) should offer a more customisable version of Unity.
