New point release of Ubuntu 12.04.5, and you now have the option to install a newer Linux Kernel and X.org into Ubuntu 12.04. In this video I'll show you how to install the new kernel and remove any leftover old kernels from your system, which can free up quite a bit of disk space.

Xorg install: sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-lts-trusty
Xorg fix: http://askubuntu.com/questions/496401/how-to-upgrade-from-xserver-xorg-lts-saucy-to-xserver-xorg-lts-trusty

Kernel upgrade: sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-trusty linux-image-generic-lts-trusty
To remove old kernels: dpkg --get-selections | grep linux
sudo apt-get purge linux-generic linux-headers linux-image old versions (as shown in video)

To check version number of Ubuntu: lsb_release
To check kernel version: uname -a
