Even though it's not an LTS (Long-Term Support) series, it looks like Ubuntu 21.10 will be based on Kernel 5.13 and is currently used by the system.
The Ubuntu 21.10 operating system, which will be released shortly, is using the 5.13 series of the Linux kernel, which appears to be the final and default kernel for the Impish Indri release.
With the next stages of development for Kernel Feature Freeze (September 16) and Kernel Freeze (September 30), it appears that Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish Indri) is adhering to the Linux 5.13 kernel, which has recently ended up in the main distribution files as the default kernel instead of the 5.11 Linux kernel used so far as of the Ubuntu 21.04 release (Hirsute Hippo).

That's right. It looks like Ubuntu 21.10 will be based on Kernel 5.13.
The Linux 5.13 kernel was released in late June 2021 and features initial support for Apple's M1 processor, support for the Landlock security module to create secure security sandboxes to mitigate the security impact of various flaws in desktop applications. user space, as well as the ability to handle trusted keys ASN.1.
It also comes with some cool features for AMD users, like initial support for AMD Radeon “Aldebaran series of GPUs”, initial FreeSync HDMI support for AMD GPUs, and driver support for AMD NAVI GPUs.
In addition, the 5.13 Linux kernel supports Apple's Magic Mouse 2 and Amazon's Luna game controller.
It's a great kernel release and good to see it in the next Ubuntu 21.10 release by default.
However, as Linux 5.13 is not an LTS (Long-Term Support) series, it will likely come to an end of life before (or shortly after) Impish Indri hits the streets on October 14, 2021.
However, this shouldn't bother users too much, considering the fact that Ubuntu 21.10 is also not an LTS release, meaning it will only be supported for nine months.
After all, the Ubuntu kernel team is always tracking the latest Linux kernel releases, so you can install a newer one at any time.
Next week, on September 23, we will be able to download and test the beta version of Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish Indri), which will likely come with the GNOME 41 desktop environment by default, as well as GCC 11, LLVM 13 and PHP 8.0 as well. pattern.
Finally, I take this opportunity to ask: Are you going to upgrade to Ubuntu 21.10? Regardless of the answer, leave your choice in the comments!
