UCS Razor Crest: your questions answered!
The Latest Ultimate Collector Series set, LEGO Star Wars 75331 The Razor Crest is finally out in the wild, and is the third biggest LEGO Star Wars set of all time.
For those considering whether or not to pick up this very valuable bounty, we’re here to answer the big questions that are no doubt weighing on your mind. Questions like, is the set bigger than a dog? and, erm…how exactly are you supposed to pick this thing up once it’s assembled?
Have no fear, Brick Fanatics is here to answer these and more of your burning questions.
Number One: Exactly how big is it? No, really, how big is it?
With 6,187 pieces this is the third largest Star Wars LEGO set and the sixth largest LEGO set thus far.
But piece counts only tell you so much. The set itself, once constructed, stands at 24cm tall, 72cm long, and 50cm wide. This makes it a little more than half the length and height of 10294 Titanic. It’s almost, but not quite, double the dimensions of the earlier 75292 The Razor Crest, and it’s eight times longer than the Razor Crest microfighter.
Number Two: Can it be brought in warm or cold?
We’ve conducted extensive research, and we can confirm that, The Razor Crest is much like Din Djarin’s bounties in The Mandalorian. You can bring it in warm, or you can bring it in cold. No carbon freeze necessary – this is one catch that isn’t going to run away.
Number Three: Does it contain any new parts?
A new mould for Kuiil’s head aside, the Razor Crest itself, surprisingly, comes with just the one brand new element, but what an element. This brand new 4x4 tile piece is delightfully versatile, and will no doubt show up on a variety of sets in future.
Number Four: How Many references are there in the model?
There are lots, thanks for asking. Obvious ones like Boba Fett’s armour, subtler ones like some red wiring, cute ones like Grogu’s gear stick ball, disturbing ones like Frog Lady’s eggs, hands off Grogu, those aren’t for you! And nerdy ones like this child on board sign, written in Arubish.
Number Five: How do you pick it up?
As with UCS Millenium Falcon before it, The Razor Crest is large and difficult to pick up. The instructions make it clear that some ways of lifting this thing just won’t work.
So, don’t try to lift it up by the engines, as they are designed to slide off. Do lift from underneath, nice and safely. Also, lift from your knees, not from your back. It won’t affect the build any, it’ll just save you some backache.
Number Six: Is it bigger than a dog?
Now we’re getting to the really important questions! As you can see here, when our lovely assistant Rocky lies down, the Razor Crest is about as tall as him, ish. When he sits up, though, he’s a little taller. We’ll have to call that a draw.
Number Seven: But can it play fetch?
No. No, it can’t.
Number Eight: How accurate is it?
75331 The Razor Crest is built to resemble the ship from season one of the Mandalorian, and does a good job, with yellow stripes on the side (even if they are stickers). Here’s a fun fact, though: with a small modification the set can also be modified to resemble the season two look for the ship.
All we need to do is, pick it up, throw it hiiiigh into the air, and then drop it.
Ready…three…two…one…
Aaaaaand let’s cut right there. No need to show such a disturbing scene on camera.
While we pick up the pieces, be sure to head over to Brick Fanatics for more coverage of LEGO Star Wars. This is the way.
