Few games can lay claim to starting an entire genre, Ultima along with just a few others were among the first CRPGs. Inspiring countless RPGs, Action RPGs, and JRPGs as well. Here a legend was born. Originally released in 1981 for the Apple II, we're covering the Commodore 64 re-release from early 1987. We'll get into my personal history with these games, read from magazine reviews of the time period, get into the infamous Scorpia some more, read from the docs, and compare the various versions. All video footage shot with real hardware on a CRT television (C64), and CRT monitor (DOS), other versions were shown with collected screenshots.
