Ultimate ADOM - Caverns of Chaos's appeal can be understood. You can do pretty much anything you set your mind to, and if you find a really good drop before you were supposed to have it, you can even surf ahead of the difficulty curve.

Depending on your mood, a fast turn around any corner in Ultimate ADOM - Caverns of Chaos will either amaze you or leave you feeling disappointed. There's a certain sense of accomplishment that comes from clearing a floor and retrieving all of the possible loot and experience points.

Even if the flint did occasionally catch fire, we were never completely engaged by Ultimate ADOM - Caverns of Chaos. It's not strange that we didn't end up loving the game because it's not easy to do so. We felt like we were just a sticker in a Dungeons & Dragons album, and the interfaces were so dull and tedious that we nodded off while using them.
