Ultimate DOOM - E2 The Shores of Hell - UV | Longplay/Playthrough [Ultra-Wide]
The Ultimate DOOM - Episode 2: The Shores of Hell - Ultra-Violence difficulty.
Semi-Blind Playthrough, It was a long time I didin’t played this game.
Playing on GZDoom port/mod with the DOOM Steam WAD because the original version of Bethesda doesn't support Ultra-Wide resolution and Free Look, and since I bought a UW screen, I want to play in UW...
I set everything like the original game (except the free look because I hate the auto aim of this game), I doesn't add jump or any other special additions to the gameplay like this.
Playing with HRTF/3D audio, and it does work really great if you use headphones.
Better turn off your virtual surround if you use any of them while listening to this video (Dolby Atmos/DTS X/Windows Sonic).
It is a casual playthrough, I doesn't go for every secrets, items or monster kills, but I try to do as much as possible, I do every secret levels.
I am not a DOOM MLG, I am not bad at FPS games either but I do some backtracking sometimes since I don't know this episode as much as E1.
I do save scum alot and make 1-2 stupid mistakes that kill me 2-3 times during this episode.
Overall this episode was still way easier that I anticipate.
I am not sure which level that I prefer, I think this is the weakest episode of the original 3 Doom Episodes.
E2M9 is one, if not the worst map that I ever played in any old school FPS games. (And I played some shit like Duke Nukem 3D: Nuclear Winter)
It is a joke, and it is his favorite map (of the designer), I don't really know what he was thinking because every other map that he made are decent and way better than this one by far.
It is a fun game to play, everything is smooth (smoother than many recent FPS gameplay wise) and the game itself is really good, the art style is neat for a nearly 30 years old games, the Baron of Hell/Hell Knight and Cyberdemon are one of the best looking enemies of any game, the Cacodemon looks rad too.
On the other hand the imp and pinky looks silly AF. Probably one of the most ridiculous enemies design that I have seen, with the imp that have a "6 pack", I guess you need to be "ripped" if you want to go against the "rip and tear" Guy.
I do think the levels design are seriously one of the most overrated thing in gaming history.
The episode 1 is good (the best for sure) but no-where as good as peoples like to say and episodes 2-3 are a mixed bag, they have some nice levels and some really forgettable level design.
Nonetheless this games is a serious achievement for a 1993 games without a doubt.
