Ultimate DOOM - E3 Inferno - UV | Longplay/Playthrough [Ultra-Wide]
The Ultimate DOOM - Episode 3: Inferno - Ultra-Violence difficulty.
Semi-Blind Playthrough, It was a long time I didin’t played this game.
Playing on GZDoom port/mod with the DOOM Steam WAD because the original version of Bethesda doesn't support Ultra-Wide resolution and Free Look, and since I bought a UW screen, I want to play in UW...
I set everything like the original game (except the free look because I hate the auto aim of this game), I doesn't add jump or any other special additions to the gamplay like this.
Playing with HRTF/3D audio, and it does work really great if you use headphones.
Better turn off your virtual surround if you use any of them while listening to this video (Dolby Atmos/DTS X/Windows Sonic).
It is a casual playthrough, I doesn't go for every secrets, items or monster kills, but I try to do as much as possible, I do every secret levels.
I am not a DOOM MLG, I am not bad at FPS games either but I do some backtracking sometimes, not that much in this episode since it is the one that I know the best.
I do save scum alot but I don't die during this episode.
This Episode is certainly not a walk in the parc during the first 2 levels, there is barely enough ammo during those mission, after that it get way easier.
E3M6 Mt. Erebus is probably my favorite map of the original DOOM, it is open, fun to play, feel almost like I was playing some Serious Sam, more map should have been like that imo, might not be the best level design, but it was certainly really fun to play.
I didin't like the first map, but the secret map (E3M9) was my second favorite map of this episode, even if it is the same map with some variation, it was a really cool map to play when you have some ammo to kill the enemies, the new added rooms and the encounter with the Cyberdemon was cool.
This was probably my favorite episode between the first three ones.
It is a fun game to play, everything is smooth (smoother than many recent FPS gameplay wise) and the game itself is really good, the art style is neat for a nearly 30 years old games, the Baron of Hell/Hell Knight and Cyberdemon are one of the best looking enemies of any game, the Cacodemon looks rad too.
On the other hand the imp and pinky looks silly AF. Probably one of the most ridiculous enemies design that I have seen, with the imp that have a "6 pack", I guess you need to be "ripped" if you want to go against the "rip and tear" Guy.
I do think the levels design are seriously one of the most overrated thing in gaming history.
The episode 1 is good (the best for sure) but no-where as good as peoples like to say and episodes 2-3 are a mixed bag, they have some nice levels and some really forgettable level design.
Nonetheless this games is a serious achievement for a 1993 games without a doubt.
