Ultimate Railroads Review: Trains and Worker Placement Spaces Excite Me
128Ultimate Railroads (1-4 players) is the big box reprint of Russian Railroads, the popular mean worker placement board game from 2013. Ultimate Railroads contains Russian Railroads and its expansions German Railroads, American Railroads, Asian Railroads (brand new content) and some modular expansions. Ultimate Railroads has been a delight to play and has been one of the best board games of 2022 we've played so far!
We cut two sections for time because we realized we could say them in a few sentences. Firstly, it's great at any player count, and we've been loving it at two. Secondly, it's an expensive box, but considering Russian Railroads is out of print, and (if you could) if you bought all the content separately, it would cost much more. Essentially, it's worth it if you really dig the core game and are going to give the content the attention it deserves.
