Pick Reimu, her unfocused homing helps a lot with the tricky stage in general, and with some of Momoyo's spellcards like Shield Method of the Youkai
Dragon Pipe: The one I picked out of the admittedly not so good other cards for my buy phase before Momoyo. (Who is going to take Yacchie's ability for Momoyo's fight?) Admittedly, considering some of her spellcards are fairly easy to capture, it's genuinely free lives.
Law of the Survival of the Fittest: Boosts your damage and if you lose any power, you're still to do a lot of damage.
Mini-Hakkero: I was always a bit nervous about Momoyo's first and last spellcard, so I picked it to end the phase faster. Extra shot damage is always good on an extra stage.
Reliable Tanuki Apprentice: The closest unsuccessful run for Momoyo was when I got hit on the last spell because my 2 Power shot didn't do enough damage to end the last phase fast enough, so I picked it to always be high on Power all the time.
Overall, I think Momoyo is the easiest extra boss. Her patterns aren't so hard to read, and there's no real tricky things.
