UMvC3: Spencer Sideswitch to Zip Loop (read description)
Expand the description, if you would, because this is kind of long. So a video was posted a week and a half ago to the Team Bifuteki YT channel - this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNiWJ8Ph3vs. In this video the player does a cool sideswitch and explores various things you can do off of it, but critically, fails to get a zip loop. When watching this video, I thought about different things that could be done to get that zip loop, and found this to be rather consistent. The main difficulty is the j.M to j.M, which requires you delay the falling j.M after the second 9zip in order to have the rejump come earlier in the hitstun. You can't cross under Sentinel, Nemesis, Tron, or Hulk, but it works on everyone else. Against floaty characters it's easier if you delay the second 9zip after the 5H to let them fall and more easily hit them with the falling j.M; this is necessary on Raccoon.
At first glance this seems totally useless, but it's actually quite cool. There's a number of things in this game that are side-specific, such as Doom missile lifts being easier on some characters when done in the left corner, or Taskmaster incoming corner theft setups only working in the left corner. Because of that, at a high level of play, selecting which side of the screen to end your combo on actually has tactical applications. This is rather difficult, but I was able to get it pretty consistently after only about 30 minutes of practice, so it's definitely match-practical, and although not every team will have a reason to use it, Spencer/Doom certainly benefits from it and that's pretty common, and my team likes it to for tricksy stuff to do to the incoming character, so there you go.
