Douglas found this book at his local thrift store. It's starts with a family that is moving to a home in West Virginia. The house is a messy old farm, and because they live there they are bullied, teased, ignored, and argue with each other. That's not the only issue, there are tales of an old woman that lives in the large forest near their farm! The main character Daniel disregards these 'beliefs' and tries to get used to his new home. But when someone important to him is "taken" by something, he starts to think otherwise...

This book is really good! It's a perfect children's book read! The dialogue is funny and heartbreaking, the scenery described sounds so real you can visualize it perfectly, and it'll stick with you on a cloudy day! Pick this one up! Thank you Mary Downing Hahn for a great read!
