Unboxing: Artovision - Cuphead Captain Brineybeard Shadowbox Art
Whenever I see a company bringing something truly distinct to video game merchandising, art, and collectibles, I have to give them attention and praise.
If you have not heard of Artovision of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, allow me the great pleasure of introducing you to them. They take the art of shadowboxes to the next level, with these 12"x15.5"x2.5", ready to hang, works of art that come with official certificates of authenticity from the company that owns the IP (in this case Studio MDHR).
Each piece is printed on 1/8" thick optical-grade acrylics with vibrant UV cured inks and come to you in a beautiful MDF wood frame that they handcraft.
This one, of the Captain Brineybeard fight from Cuphead, is absolutely gorgeous. I try to show the detail as much as I can in my video by moving to angles, but it does ZERO justice to the magnificent 3D effect of four layers of acrylics on top of each other.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of video game art I have ever seen in my life and it will stand tall as my collectible to beat (already) for my 2022 game awards at the end of the year (a crazy impressive start to the year!).
These come lovingly packed in two boxes to your door, bathing in packing peanuts and in perfect condition, and they hang in seconds. The shadowboxes are $149 and there are also two-layer desktop art pieces (6"x4.5"x0.75") for $39. Both are gorgeous but the shadowboxes are next level and what got my pulse racing.
The word "conversation piece" is so overused in this world but this is one that will excite and delight you and your family and friends and make you love video games all over again.
I am thrilled with my purchase and believe I got incredible value. I would have enjoyed it at twice the price.
I hope I can convince you to bring the joy of Artovision into your home. They merit a look from any video game collector. I'm just very, very impressed.
