Unboxing: The Nintendo Switch
Unboxing the Nintendo Switch. Read more below for my initial thoughts on Pros and Cons.
Pros:
- Light weight
- Solid construction
- The controllers make a distinct 'Click' sound, when they are secured. If you dont hear the click, push down a bit harder on it.
- Video quality on the screen is great
- No issues switching between the docking station and TV. Almost instant when you dock your Switch
Cons:
- Touch screen is a bit too sensitive. My fat fingers had a hard time typing on the screen. It will just take some getting used to.
- The Docking station feels a bit cheap. Nothing much to it
- No form of felt/rubber guard when you slide in the Switch to the Docking station. Just concerning. Could it possibly scratch the screen overtime? Hopefully not.
- The Hand strap. MAKE SURE YOU LINE UP THE MATCHING SYMBOLS BEFORE SLIDING YOUR CONTROLLER ON IT. if you dont match the right controller, it will continue to slide down and click in place. You will then have a hellacious time trying to remove your Joycon Controller and even risk breaking it! I had to use a business card and kinda slide it along the space inbetween, like you would if you were trying to open a locked door from the outside (or so they tell me lol). BE CAREFUL FRIENDS lol. I guess, i shouldve read the instructions...
- No additional apps available for download, no NetFlix, Hulu, Hbo, nadda...they do claim that over time, they will start releasing those to the Store.
- No other games yet other than the main Switch titles. I would love to be able to play some of my older games on this. Once again, overtime they are supposedly releasing all of that fun stuff.
This console sold out within a few hours, per classic Nintendo's practices. I am excited about the direction Nintendo went with this console and I hope it gets better as time goes by and patches/updates to the software get released.
