The implicit purpose of identifying these issues was to enable the shedding these debilitating notions so don't continue to erode the proper and desired nurturing of Trust in Hashem to successfully serve Him according to our innate potential.
In this all-new Episode, UNCHARITABLE we move onto the dangers of ignorance in Hashem's Torah -- specifically insofar as Bitachon is concerned.
Moving beyond the obvious spiritual and religious shortcomings caused by lack of Torah knowledge, Rabbainu Bachaya maintains that being unlearned in Torah comprises a most exceptional Trust deficiency. That's because the Torah is the only authentic source that teaches us how to have Bitachon.
Beyond the general impediment to Trust engendered by lack of literacy about instructions Torah provides for us about placing Trust in Hashem, the pitfalls of this ignorance are specifically depicted by virtue of the explicit commands to "Test G-d" regarding the giving of Ma'aser (tithes). and some of its most the basic principles.
An interesting discussion that arises out of this teaching is whether this "Testing" of
G-d is limited to Ma'aser, inclusive of Tzedakah or possibly even incorporating all expenditures relating to Mitzvah performance.
