Unity have just announced they have acquired AI powered texturing and material company Artomatix, makers of Art Engine.

Thinking this is Unity's response to Epic's purchase of Quixel... think again. So far as I can tell, nothing changes and given the actual acquisition was months ago, I would have expected the announcement by now... Perhaps a GDC surprise will prove me wrong.
