Unity - Non-Euclidean Geometry - Test 1.03
The Exploration Thereof...: http://xona.com/exploration/
Testing non-Euclidean geometry coding in Unity.
NON-EUCLIDEAN? CLARIFICATION NOTE: The usage of "non-Euclidean" in this game refers to anything not Euclidean. The usage does not imply hyperbolic geometry or any other models of non-Euclidean geometries, such as elliptic (spherical), hyperbolic, etc. Although the term "non-Euclidean" was coined by Gauss in his work on hyperbolic geometry, and some authors still consider them synonyms, this is not the choice of usage in this game. This game's usage is best described by johnlesley00's comment: "...there are many ways a space can be non-Euclidean as you only have to bend 1 of the 5 postulates." Simply put, it just has to be something other than Euclidean. Some pieces can still be Euclidean. A further note: Even though the geometry of this demo is locally Euclidean, it is globally non-Euclidean. Many things do not persist, including the distance between two points, location, size, etc. (Also, this is only a tech demo, and some mechanics are not coded yet.)
