Unreleased Us versions of Shenmue 2 Dreamcast Tribute
Shenmue is much more than a game, it is one of those rare gems that help take players to a new stage in video games.
This title is a cinematographic work which makes the fusion between the pre-calculated and the 3D for the graphics, the synthesis of the adventure game, of RPG, of the FMV and the fighting game for the gameplay while bringing a high-level graphic packaging in an open world placing the player in front of necessary possibilities (eating, sleeping), accessories (collecting, participating in bets) futile (feeding a chat, play in an arcade machine) or each NPC to his own life, schedules etc. For the first time, the player was drowned in a universe that seemed parallel to ours.
Sega Europe took the risk of publishing it. We were on the verge of cancellation on European and American territory. Without this decision of SOE, Shenmue 2 would have remained confined to Japan and would never have been able to have a classic Xbox version.
Microsoft was interested because the localization work was already done, a recycling of the canceled Us DC version !!!
This prototype has two debug menus. If at first glance this one seems basic, we realize that it allows a lot of things in the game. It is complicated to understand it, to use it.
