USB 2.0 boasts 480Mbps speeds, compared to Firewire 400's 400Mbps, however in real world situations theoretical data flow isn't necessarily the deciding factor in which interface is faster. USB has more overhead and most interface with the CPU while Firewire, in it's peer to peer relationship, is mostly independent. The video gives more detail in this situation and even breaks it down for anyone to understand.
