I've created an integrated gaming treadmill which converts real movement to game movements. Essentially I use a treadmill to run and walk in video games as a walking simulator. Combining the treadmill with the PC wasn't easy and required some pre-planning. It's pretty well-sync'd and I mean to improve it further. I can walk and run in this design, I am design it to include slow walk, regular walk (W) and running (+SHIFT); depending on the game. This demonstration was done in the disappearance of Ethan Carter. I get to walk inside a beautiful 3D environment while exercising and walking in real-life, it's pretty awesome. Using treadmills or elliptical trainer or stepper to walk with video games is a brilliant solution. So far I only integrated a treadmill and a stepper as a walking/running simulation, but in the future I intend to integrate more devices...
