Using Hearts Of Iron 4 To Explain Atomic Warfare During WW2.
3Today I reached a critical juncture in my first HOI4 campaign, playing as America (of course, for a newbie! Link below!). As an internet non-appointed pseudo-scholar, when I was in college I spent a great deal of time evaluating Harry Truman's decision to drop the Atom Bomb on Japan. I'm going to go off-the-cuff a bit and put myself in a somewhat different position; or, at least, a position similar to Truman's, since that's the character I'm playing as.
I felt that a "scripted think-aloud" was a sufficient method to get things across; I had points I wanted to address in my decision making. Considering no innocent people were harmed in this video, but many otherwise good-natured people die in wars constantly, I wanted to at least try to talk myself into a meager understanding of the decision Truman made while giving you, the viewer, a hopefully entertaining discussion about what went into his mind.
