So Autonauts is a little free game over on itch, and it's got a really neat concept for an indie game. Effectively you are a member of a race called the Automationauts, and your job is to build civilizations and give them a jump start through the power of automation...via robots. You start with nothing and build up from there, but eventually you gain robot followers that you can "Teach" to do things. That's right, instead of YOU chopping wood or mining ore, you teach robots to do those things for you! Eventually you can have the entire process of building a colony, kingdom, or whatever automated! Obviously this is SUPER alpha, but it's got a neat concept and actually has pretty solid gameplay this early on!

ABOUT: Autonauts
The 'Automationauts' (to give them their fuller, grander, longwindeder title) travel the universe with the sole goal of setting worlds in motion through the power of automation.
They harness whatever natural resources are available; they learn fast and can eventually make pretty much anything from anything. But their most important creations are workerbots, which can be made from the crudest of materials and taught to do anything an Autonaut can do so they can get on with helping species evolve.

This pre-pre-pre-Alpha release is lacking refinement and presentation - and it can take some getting into - but under the rough edges there's a great example of what we're doing and where we're going.
