Using the Spear in Mordhau is a great team advantage! its huge reach allows you to stay a safe distance, preferably behind a shielded team mate with either the round shield or the kite shield. It has a high damage but slow wind up so the best way to use it is to stab over the shoulder of your team mates being careful not to team kill. There is a 50k Champions Skin to purchase if you want it even more shiny. The spear is versatile, it can be used in an ALT grip sacrificing its range for better handling and speed.
